Clemastine Fumarate Tablets
Antihistamine
Clemastine Fumarate is an antihistamine that
blocks action of histamine on tissues. Similar to other antihistamines,
Clemastine acts by blocking the H1
receptor and suppresses inflammatory reactions caused by histamine. The H1
blockers have been used to control pruritus [itching] and skin inflammation in
dogs and cats [skin allergies].
Small Animal Dosage:
Dogs:
0.05-0.1mg/kg every 12 hours orally.
Side Effects:
Sedation is the most common side effect. Dry mouth and decreased GI
secretions are also possible effects.
There are no contraindications or drug interactions
reported in animals.
