Description:
Clemastine
Drug Class
Antihistamine
Mechanism of Action and Clinical Use
H1 Blocker. Blocks action of histamine on tissues. Used Primarily for treatment
of allergy. Some evidence suggests that clemastine is more effective than other
antihistamines for pruritus in dogs.
Adverse Effects
Sedation is the most common side effect.

None Reported.
Instructions for Use
Used for short-term treatment of pruritus in dogs. May be more efficacious when
combined with other anti-inflammatory drugs.
Small Animal Dosage:
Dogs:
0.05-0.1mg/kg, q12h, PO. Dosages based on q12h treatment and 1.34mg tablets.
<10kg: .05 tablets
10-25 kg: 1 tablet
>25kg: 1.5 tabletz
