Description:
Fish Cycline (Tetracycline) 250 mg, 60 Capsules
Fish Cycline (Tetracycline 250mg) is for use in
aquariums for the treatment of bacterial activity. Tetracycline is an
antibiotic that acts by inhibiting protein synthesis. It is usually
bacteriostatic, with broad-spectrum activity, including bacteria, some protozoa,
Richettsia and Ehrlichia.
Directions:
Fish: Add one capsule (250mg) into
aquarium for each 10 gallons of water. Repeat in 24 hours. It is suggested
that a partial water change be made between treatments. While treatment
duration depends on the type and severity of infection, it is recommended
that extended baths in the medication continue for a minimum of 5 days and
for not more than 10 days. Discontinued treatment if no improvement is
noted within 5 days.
Dogs and Cats: 15-20 mg/Kg (7-9
mg/lb) every 8 hours orally. Fish Cycline is commonly given in off-label
use to small animals.
Used to treat a variety of infections,
including pneumonia and urinary tract infections.
Contraindications: Do not use in
young animals; it can affect bone and teeth formation.
Drug Interaction: Tetracyclines bind
to calcium-containing compounds, which decreases oral absorption.
Not for human use.
