PANCREZYME® is an enzymatic
concentrate derived from porcine pancreas containing standardized lipase,
protease and amylase plus esterases, peptidases, nucleases and elastase.
Indications: For use
in animals with deficient exocrine pancreatic secretions, as a digestive aid in
enzyme replacement therapy where digestion of carbohydrate, protein and fat is
inadequate.
Dosage and Administration:
The dose should be adjusted according to the severity of the
condition and the weight of the animal.
Tablets:
Adult dogs: The average dose is 2-3 tablets
with each meal.
Adult cats: ½-1 tablet with each meal.
Powder:
Adult dogs: ¾-1 teaspoonful with each meal.
Adult cats: ¼-¾ teaspoonful with each meal.
Mix well with moistened food (canned or dry)
and let stand at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before feeding. Frequent
feeding, at least three (3) times a day is important.
Precaution(s):
Discontinue use in animals with symptoms of sensitivity.
Caution(s): Federal
law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
