Description:
Selegiline (L-deprenyl) is the generic of Anipryl and is indicated for the control of clinical signs associated with canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome and for the clinical signs associated with uncomplicated Pituitary Dependent Hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing's Disease). Because it belongs to a class of drugs called Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors, it should not be given with antidepressants such as Prozac. The usual dose for Cushing's disease is 0.45 mg/pound by mouth once a day in the morning. The usual dose for canine cognitive dysfunction is 0.2-0.45 mg/pound. Do not use in pregnant or nursing animals.
