Pancreatic Enzyme Supplement For Dogs & Cats
Thomas Labs Bio Case is a high potency, pancreatic enzyme concentrate formulated as a digestive supplement to support enzyme replacement needs of dogs and cats. The high levels of enzymes in Bio Case assist in the digestion of carbohydrates, proteins and fats and the absorption of nutrients from the digestive tract.
Bio Case is activated whole raw pancreas; a pancreatic enzyme concentrate of porcine origin containing standardized amylase, protease and lipase activities plus esterases, peptidases, nucleases and elastase.
Treatment in Acute and Chronic Pancreatitis
The most important aspect of the treatment of acute pancreatitis is initiation of vigorous therapy aimed at combating pain and shock, restoring blood volume, blood pressure and renal function, with reducing pancreatic secretions and combating secondary infection of necrotic tissue. Animals surviving an acute attack should be placed on a bland and easily digested diet and supplemented with Bio Case.
In chronic pancreatitis, replacement therapy must be given for the duration of the animal's life. Three daily feedings of a bland and easily digested diet containing sufficient quantities of good quality proteins and carbohydrates and low levels of fat are recommended. Bio Case is given with each meal at a dosage level sufficient to keep the feces normal.
Feeding Directions:
Administer at each meal to dogs or cats over six weeks of age. Add to moistened food (canned or dry). For dogs, give 2 to 3 capsules orally, or open capsules and spread across food. For cats, give 1/2 to 1 capsule, or open capsule and spread across food. When opening the capsule, thorough mixing of the moist food will be necessary to bring the enzymes into close contact with the food particles. After mixing is complete, incubate at room temperature for 15-20 minutes. For dogs and cats only. This product is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding.
