Mechanism of Action
- Boric & acetic acids: Provide drying, astringent, degreasing, and whitening actions. They are particularly useful in moist lesions such as wet eczema and fold dermatitis, and have antibacterial, antifungal, keratolytic, keratoplastic, and astringent properties.
- Aloe barbadensis (Aloe vera): Supports skin regeneration and has soothing, anti-inflammatory effects. Studies indicate Aloe vera can help reduce healing time in wounds and burns in dogs and cats.
- Chamomilla recutita (chamomile): Provides antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and calming effects on the skin, thanks to phenolic compounds and flavonoids.
- Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel): Rich in tannins and flavonoids, used as an astringent, vasoconstrictor, and anti-inflammatory; also contains antioxidant proanthocyanins.
- Honeycomb-textured fabric: Enhances mechanical removal of detritus and exudate, improving contact and efficacy of the active ingredients.
