Equine Gastric Ulcer Preventative

GastroMax3 (Omeprazole, L-Glutamine, Sodium Acid Carbonate) is an effective inhibitor of gastric acid secretion in horses and thereby helps in preventing ulcers. GastroMax3 is highly recommended to be used during stressful events or activities that may cause gastric ulcers.
  • Convenient once-a-day dosing
  • Easy to administer and readily accepted by horses
  • Proven to prevent gastric ulcers and their recurrence

  • Omeprazole (2.28 grams) blocks secretion of acid at the pariental cell membrane by irreversibly binding to the proton pump of the cell. Due to its prolonged anti-secretory effect, Omeprazole allows for once-daily dosing.
  • Sodium Acid Carbonate (0.7g) is a gastric antacid with rapid onset of action in neutralizing stomach acid. This is important because Omeprazole degrades rapidly in an acid environment.
  • L-Glutamine (1g) stimulates the synthesis of certain mucoproteins, which increase mucin and can benefit the healing of gastric ulcers and decrease inflammation.

GastroMax3 is intended for use in healthy horses and weighing at least 600 lbs. GastroMax3 may be safely given to breeding stallions. Safety in pregnant mares has not been determined..

Once daily administration of GastroMax3 is recommended for horses exposed to stressful conditions which may include: training, racing, showing, traveling, stall confinement, and competition.

GastroMax3 can be used only in the prevention of gastric ulcers in healthy horses. Clinical signs of gastric ulcers may include: decreased appetite, recurrent colic, intermittent loose stools or diarrhea, poor hair coat, poor body condition or poor performance. these signs may also be associated with other disease as well as existing gastric ulcers.
