Levafen Injection (Carprofen 50 mg/mL) for Dogs

Pivetal Levafen (carprofen) Injection is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) formulated to relieve acute and chronic pain and inflammation in dogs. It is commonly used to manage osteoarthritis-related discomfort and to control postoperative pain associated with soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.

Indications

Levafen Injection is indicated for:

  • Relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in dogs
  • Control of postoperative pain associated with soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries
Dosage & Administration
  • Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration consistent with individual response.
  • Recommended dosage: 2 mg/lb (4.4 mg/kg) of body weight daily
  • May be administered as:
    • 2 mg/lb once daily, or
    • 1 mg/lb (2.2 mg/kg) twice daily
  • Route: Subcutaneous injection
  • For postoperative pain: Administer approximately 2 hours before the procedure
Precautions
  • For use in dogs only
  • Do not use in dogs with known hypersensitivity to carprofen or other NSAIDs
  • Use with caution in dogs with pre-existing liver, kidney, or gastrointestinal conditions
  • Keep out of reach of children and other animals
